Billy Foster - Works done "On the Wall" at Moundsville State
Penitentiary
This series of "On the Wall" mural paintings were inspired by the artist's life in rural
West Virginia and also by well known artists of the American West, C.M. Russell
and Frederic Remington. These murals are of varying sizes, the largest
covering a prison wall approximately 8' x 6'. These paintings were all
completed while the artist was incarcerated at Moundsville.
