I am sure Billy never felt his life was wasted at Moundsville, having
left behind such beautiful artwork to be remembered forever. God gave
him a wonderful talent which he used to the fullest.  May he rest in
peace. Who knows when we see a beautiful sunset, or a red bird in snow,
or the beautiful leaves falling in the Autumn, God may have let Billy
paint them for us to enjoy.

The artwork of Billy Foster is truly fine work of pen, pencil, and
paint.  I know this because I myself have watched Billy at work many
times in the past. He has done pictures of both my girls 25 years ago
and they still look great. Sorry to hear of Billy's passing, he was a
great person as well as a great friend. He will be missed.

Dear Benny,
So sorry to hear about the death of Billy Fostor who did a great work of art. We bought a picture from you when we visited the Moundsville Penitenitary Back in 2005, I believe it was around June, 2005. We bought the pen or pencil drawing of the outhouse with the sears catalog laying inside it.
I sent this to many of our friends because they all raved about the art work that Billy had done and how great the picture of the outhouse was. We had the picture framed and everyone who comes in comments on it, where did you get that picture?????
I am a cancer patient now and hope that thru my sending this to all our relatives and friends they will get on the site and buy some art work. Billy did do magnificent work on all the pictures we seen that day you were sitting up in the Old Prison at Moundsville. Glad we visited that day and bought that picture. I will be keeping in touch because we love our picture of the ole outhouse we bought from you. Now I am deciding whether or not I want the canvass of many of the pictures we seen on the sight. Take Care and God Bless, sorry about the loss of your friend and artist Billy Fostor, I feel he did a great work spending time in there and putting his talents to work and something good came from it all. Thanks, I am just glad that we did stop and buy the picture from you all that day.
Regards

My in-laws were fortunate enough to have known Mr. Foster personally.
I have two Foster originals: (1) a pen and ink of a wolf that they had
commissioned for me at my request in 1995, and
(2) a white-tailed deer which is painted on a West Virginia-shaped
piece of wood.
I am constantly amazed at the man's talent. I enjoyed your site very
much.

Hi Benny! Thanks for sending me the link to your site. I had never
heard of Billy Foster until now and wow, what a talented man he was. His
pencil drawings have so much detail. I really like those. You've done
a wonderful job and I'll be sure and send your site link out to all my
family and friends. Thanks again! Kristy Bowen (July 12, 2006)
